Poetry Analysis

Fire and Ice by Robert frost
Some say the founding will residuum in rout out,
Some say in ice.
From what Ive tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for oddment ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

This poem outlines the familiar question about the draw of the world. Frost indicates how he favors the world end in fire. Although the prototypal two lines of the poem insist that thither can completely be a single choice between fire and ice, the narrator undercuts this requirement by acknowledging that both elements could successfully supplant the world. This poem could also refer to an individuals animation at its end. Fire could be a flashy, awe-inspiring dying as to where ice could be a subtle end to a well lived life.
I chose this Poem beca substance abuse I am familiar with it. This poem, although short, is very popular and has been given high grade by editors and critics. Also Fire and Ice uses multiple poetic elements in its few nine lines.

And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes well walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And well go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
