The Battle of the Atlantic was one of the most important battles for Canada because it controlled all the supplies that were heading to the allies. To simulated military operation a role in the battle Canada had to increase the size of their navy.

The larger navy enabled for more supplys to safely cross the Atlantic Ocean and to further aid in the war effort in Europe. This was a serious contribution to the eventual victory in Europe. The Royal Canadian dark blue also equipped their battleships with radar and sonar systems so they could regain incoming submarine wolf packs (hillis1). This gave Canadians a great benefit on the sea because more German U-boats could be sunk, term more supply ships could arrive safely, being another gigantic Canadian contribution to help the Allies win the war.
