Through move in this class, Ive come to learn closely many businesses and how
they operate. In my opinion, big business is very interesting. Corporations are what we refer
to when speaking about big business. These type of businesses account for 90% of the revenues
in the marketplace. angiotensin-converting enzyme could say that corporations are what drive our economy. The
corporation I hit decided to write about is Berkshire Hathaway, one of the largest businesses
in the world.
Berkshire Hathaway, primary known as the vale Falls Company, was founded in 1839 by
Oliver Chace. This company was involved in the textile manafacturing industry, one of the
biggest industries during the industrial Revolution. The valley Falls Company started off with
just twain mill about, but with the increase in business, two larger mills were added. Because Valley
Falls was perfectly situated in in the midst of two cities ( Cumberland and Central Falls), it became
the site for people looking for work. Also, Valley Falls became the location of Cumberlands
town seat of government. Eventually, in 1929 The Valley Falls Company merged with Berkshire
Manufacturing Company to create the Berkshire delightful Spinning Associates.
This was a smart
business move considering this was around the meter of the Great Depression.
Today, Berkshire Hathaway is run by the CEO warren Buffet. Warren acquired the
company by investing enough money to seclude control of the company. However during the
1960s, the textile industry was starting to beetle off and Buffets investment didnt pay off as he
originally planned. By 1985, the last of his textile businesses was shutdown. In the future,
Buffet would at long last re-invest in the clothing business.
Berkshire Hathaway owns a variety of businesses which is part of the priming why this
