As of January 5, 2011, there are 1,170 animals species worldwide that are endangered, half of which reside in the united States (DoSomething, 1994). The main causes for liquidation of species are habitat destruction, climate change, pollution, and encroaching(a) species. If we dont try to change this, more than half the worlds species will be extinct in 100 years. Animals have a great impact on our lives, whether we notice it or not, and without them, life would be different.
In somewhat way everything is connected, when one thing becomes threatened, then so does everything else, including humans. This is what is referred to as the domino effect. Without animals on our planet, there is an ecological imbalance. Humans, animals, and plants are completely interlinked, so therefore life wouldnt be achievable without animals. Humans everyday life is dependent on animals from the milk we drink, to the meat we eat, and all our commercial products require animals.
