Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the difference in recede performance between two types of rehearsal strategies (maintenance rehearsal and elaborative rehearsal). A total of 292 participants were recruited for this study. Participants were separated into two groups where one group receive maintenance rehearsal instruction and the other received elaborative rehearsal instruction. After the instructions were accustomed, a list of 24 face words was then given to the participants. One minute was given to the participants to study the words and two minutes was given to release down as many words they can remember. The resolvent shows that participants who received an elaborative rehearsal instruction were able to repudiate more words than participants who received a maintenance rehearsal instruction.
